EST. FOR THOSE WHO CARRY MORE THAN METAL

House of Talisman

Carved by hand, or chosen ready every piece is marked before it ever reaches you. What it's marked for is between you and the maker.

THE CRAFT

The metal is only the vessel. In our workshop, we favor the methods that leave a trace of the struggle the hammer mark, the heat tint, the intentional scar. We do not polish away the soul of the work to satisfy a machine’s definition of perfection.

A talisman is not decoration.
It is instruction
to yourself.

Every piece begins with a rite of intention. Whether it is a private commission or a ready-made carving, the metal is held to the flame until it is ready to receive its mark. What follows is hours of slow, deliberate removal of material until the shape that was always there finally breathes.

We work in blackened silver, raw bronze, and reclaimed high-karat gold. Materials that age with you, that take on the patina of your specific life. A talisman should look better after a decade of wear than it did on the day it was forged.

ONE OF ONE

HANDCARVED

Bespoke pieces cut to a single intention, discussed in confidence and carved to order. No two commissions share a mark. Lead time, four to nine weeks.

ALREADY MARKED

READY-MADE

A small, finite stock of finished talismans, carved ahead and waiting for the right hand to claim them. Once a piece sells, its mark does not return.

Four stages. None of them rushed.

THE RITE OF MAKING

Every hand carved talisman passes through the same order of hands and hours. The sequence does not change  only what it's carved for does.

I
Correspondence

The intention is set in the first letter. We establish the weight, the wear, and the material. This stage belongs to word and air before metal and fire take over.

II
Lost Wax

The form is carved into soft wax first. It is the only time the piece is fragile. Here, the marks are made with steel needles and flame, unique to the day they are cut.

III
The Pour

Molten bronze or silver replaces the wax. The original model is destroyed in the process. What survives is a physical anchor for the carved purpose.

IV
The Marking

The final metal is aged, oxidized, and marked. We let the dark settle into the recesses so that every piece arrives as if it has already been worn for a century.
